General Laborer

Objective / Purpose 

The primary purpose of this role is to maintain a clean working environment for all staff and visitors, ensuring the campus and all areas are safe.


Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.


General:

  • Ensure spaces are maintained and cleaned by emptying trash and recycle bins, tidying furniture, dusting surfaces, and picking up debris and trash on facility grounds.
  • Operate floor scrubber, sweep, and mop floors.
  • Remove extraneous dirt/markings from interior and exterior vertical/horizontal surfaces (walls, doors, etc.).
  • Maintain working conditions of cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work space.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance & Safety Supervisor.

 

Inventory Management:

  • Notify the Maintenance & Safety Supervisor for supply replenishment.

 

Safety:

  • Adhere to safety measures for cleaning, lifting, moving, and operating equipment.
  • Maintain a safe working environment; observe all OSHA and Company safety policies.
  • Identify and generate near-miss reports (Stop Stories) and other elements of risk.


Minimum Qualifications / Education / Certifications 

Education:

Minimum of GED or two years related experience and/or training – preferred.

Ability to maintain machinery necessary to perform a specialized task.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.


Work Environment / Conditions

The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience, and therefore must be adaptable to.

Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise.

This job operates both interior and exterior of the building; the incumbent will be exposed to outside weather conditions.

The job on a rare occasion works in elevations up to 75 feet.

Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk and hear.

This position is active and requires bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing for the duration of the shift.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, forklift, golf cart, or other means of transportation which require sitting, waiting, and standing for long and short periods of time.

The incumbent must frequently lift and move items over 30 pounds.

All injuries regardless of severity must be reported to your Supervisor/HR immediately.
