The Medina County Health Department, a nationally accredited health department, has an opening for a part time, independent contractor Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner to provide direct clinical services to individuals receiving medical care in the health center clinics and at collaborating agencies as assigned. This position will work out of both the Medina and Wadsworth locations as needed.
Essential Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides certified nurse practitioner services with a focus on women and reproductive health, to individuals within scope of practice.
- Evaluates patient history, performs physical examinations, and make diagnosis. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify patient health care needs.
- Determines and institutes plan of care, including prescribing of therapeutic modalities.
- Makes referrals to physicians and specialists for treatment and consultation when needed.
- Documents all care provided in EMR and prepares timely written administrative reports according to agency policy.
- Consults with the agency Medical Director or SCA Physician Collaborator on medical decision-making as needed and assures SCA is compliant with Ohio Board of Nursing regulations.
- Supports CDC recommendations on vaccine-preventable diseases and public health best practices.
Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience Needs:
- Masters of Science in Nursing (minimum) or Doctorate of Nursing Practice, with a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner specialty.
- Experience in practice specialty area and hold certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Minimum of six (6) years of experience preferred.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Ohio (Section 4723.13 of Ohio Revised Code)
- Certificate of Authority for Advanced Practice Nursing – Ohio (Section 4723.43 of Ohio Revised Code)
- Current DEA Registration
- Current CPR Certificate
